Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believes his side did not deserve to take home a point after falling 1-0 to Inter on Wednesday night.

Mihajlovic was not impressed with the first half performance from his side but he saw some improvement in the second half.

“I am sorry to have lost at the end but I said to the boys that we wouldn’t have deserved to equalize,” Mihajlovic told Sportmediaset.

“We did badly in the first half. We redeemed ourselves in the second half and we had some chances to score at the end.

“In general I say that we wouldn’t have deserved to have conquered a point.”

The Sampdoria coach finished his playing career with Inter, and although he was happy to return to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, he would have liked to have left Milan with at least a point.

“It was pleasing to return to the San Siro to challenge my old team but it would have been great to bring home a positive result,” Mihajlovic concluded.
