Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella believes his side didn’t deserve to lose to Lazio in their Serie A match on Sunday.

The Viola lost 2-0 and were missing several key figures including strikers Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez.

“I didn’t like our approach. In the second half we were quick and responsive,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia.

“I don’t think we didn’t deserved to lose. We are disappointed to have lost even though Lazio are a great team.”

The away side went ahead through striker Filip Djordjevic with Senad Lulic adding a second in time added on at the end of the game.

“Lazio had [Filip] Djordjevic in from the start and [Miroslav] Klose on the bench who are both of top quality,” Montella continued.

“They are the game changers and unfortunately ours are out injured. We were not decisive enough in attack.

“It will not stay this way. We’re more compact than we have been in the past.”
