Montella - FiorentinaFiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has admitted that his side is taking the Europa League seriously this season and he will not field a weakened side in the competition.

The Viola face a lengthy trip to face Dinamo Minsk in Belarus on Thursday evening in their second match of the group stage and Montella believes that his players can do well in this year’s tournament.

“We hold this competition in good stead,” Montella revealed at his pre-match press conference.

“We will put out our best team on the pitch tomorrow. If I didn’t believe in the competition I would have only selected the second XI.

“Tomorrow we will have our best players because we want to win.”

Montella also discussed the opposition.

“I was surprised [at the outcome of their first game against PAOK]. Dinamo are a fast and competitive team. I can predict their tactics, but I can’t be certain.”

He then went onto discuss the state of his squad.

“The players are doing very well in relation to what I have seen and who we have played so far.

“We are definitely playing with less pressure and this helps us get what we deserve. In this case it will help us win in the future.”
