Massimo Moratti has stated that he will continue to back Inter president Erick Thohir despite his recent resignation from the club.
The former owner was most recently the Nerazzurri’s honourary president after selling the club to Thohir, but his sudden departure has thrown his relationship with the Indonesian into doubt, something he moved to deny.
“I never said that the fans will understand my decision in the short term. It was a day of change, but not dramatic change,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I will continue to support [Erick] Thohir.”
Moratti’s company, Internazionale Holding SpA, continue to hold 29.5% of the club though rumours suggest he could sell his holding in the club.
Along with Moratti, son Angelomario Moratti has also stepped down from his position as vice-president.
