Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain could start the Azzurri’s match at Inter in Serie A on Sunday evening from the bench due to tiredness.
The Argentina international has featured on an Asian tour with the national side playing as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 defeat to Brazil in Beijing on Saturday and scored twice in a 7-0 win against the Hong Kong national team on Tuesday.
According to the Cronache di Napoli newspaper, the 26-year-old forward could initially start the match at the San Siro as a substitute as a result of travelling over a total of 10,000 miles within a number of days.
On-loan Swansea City forward Michu is rumoured to take Higuain’s place ahead of Duvan Zapata after starting in the 2-1 win against Torino.
Both Higuain and Michu are yet to score in Serie A this season.
