New Bologna president Joe Tacopina has said that his consortium intends to invest money into the Felsinei for many years to come.

The Italian-American lawyer made his first appearance as Bologna president on Thursday at a press conference. Although he plans to make the Felsinei a top side, he was not willing to reveal if basketball superstar Kobe Bryant was an investor or not.

“For us it is an honour to take care of this historic club and we have worked hard to be here,” Tacopina said in a press conference as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb.

“We believe in the future of our major projects. Ours will be a long-term commitment that could last for decades. First we will conquer Serie A promotion and then we will think how to get to the top.

“We are committed first and foremost to get the first goal and then move on to the next step. We want to lay the foundation for a great future in Bologna.

“Many things have been said [about Kobe]. If we speak about potential partners we can nominate them, but at the moment there is nothing certain.”
