Roma president James Pallotta has insisted that the club have no intention of selling Kevin Strootman, not even for a a fee of €95 million.

The 56-year-old reiterated that the Giallorossi’s goal is to build as strong a side as possible to challenge for the Serie A title and that entertaining offers for the Dutchman would work against that.

“That Manchester United want Kevin is something that did not happen, and that is why the British press only wastes time and paper writing these stories,” Pallotta told BBC.

“We did not want to give Kevin up, not even for €95m.

“As entrepreneurs we consider any kind of offer, it is part of our job, however this does not mean that a number of high level make us change your mind.

“Money does not make a difference. For us, the goal is to build a great team.”
