With Roberto Donadoni’s Parma side rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table, the club are expected to focus on attacking reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in January so that they can begin to climb their way up the standings.

The Gialloblu have won just once this when defeating Chievo away from home on in September but despite leaking goals in the absence of Gabriel Paletta, one of the stars of an impressive campaign last year, it appears they have identified shortcomings at the other end of the pitch.

According to Gazzetta di Parma, Donadoni’s future remains safe in Emilia-Romagna and the club will back him in his attempts to bring in a striker who can dovetail with Antonio Cassano.

During the summer the Ducali saw Amauri depart for Serie A rivals Torino while attacking wideman Jonathan Biabiany has been struck down with a heart condition after the club had seemingly kept hold of the Frenchman when a move to AC Milan collapsed on deadline day.
