Giampaolo Pazzini AC MilanAC Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini’s wife, Silvia Slitti, posted a long message on Instagram following the Rossoneri’s 1-1 draw at Cagliari on Wednesday night before promptly deleting it.

Though she did not make direct references to the forward or the coach, the text voiced her discontent and implied that the No. 11 be used more frequently by coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“So, let’s say that maths was never my strong point,” began her Instagram statement, “but suppose we are given nine chances to impress someone or to get a job, or to demonstrate what we’re capable of, and every time, after an average of three to eight minutes, we are told, ‘Enough!’, then here, I wonder who can tell if that person is good or not?

“Or if having maybe 30 minutes, or 45 minutes, or better yet, 90 minutes, maybe then we could change your mind?

“What if that person was one of those that does not scream, or make any noise, or create a blatant scene, but continued to work seriously, diligently, and consistently for the role he desires, and for the role he was sought after and bought for?

“Would it not be a shame not to see if that person, with a little confidence and perseverance, could demonstrate great things?

“I feel sorry to think that here in Italy, there is not always proper meritocracy.”

Slitti’s statement comes after Il Pazzo’s failure to garner much playing time under the new Diavolo tactician. As a matter of fact, the former Internazionale striker has made only four Serie A appearances, all from the bench, with a total of less than 50 minutes of action under his belt so far this season.
