Saint-Etienne captain Loic Perrin has revealed that his team weren’t put under too much pressure in their Europa League group stage draw with Inter on Thursday.

The Ligue 1 side managed to hold the Nerazzurri to a goalless draw at the San Siro, giving them a total of three points in the group stage thus far, and the 29-year-old admits that he’s satisfied with the result, though he would have liked to see the French club create more scoring chances.

Perrin spoke to beIN Sports on Friday about the match with Inter and the improvements that Saint-Etienne could make for their future Europa League meetings, while insisting that the hosts failed to cause any serious problems for Les Verts throughout the game.

“We have secured a good result, even if it hasn’t gotten us too far ahead in the standings,” said the defender.

“Right now we only cause a few problems in front of goal, but I’m not worried. The most important thing is to create scoring chances, so as we keep playing the goals will come.

“We had studied Inter well and they were not able to create any serious dangers for us.”
