Lazio coach Stefano Pioli believes the Biancocelesti’s clash with Fiorentina will be an important match in determining the strengths of his side.

The Biancocelesti enter the match with renewed confidence following their 3-2 victory over a determined Sassuolo prior to the international break.

Despite the absences of Lorik Cana (suspension) and Keita (injury), Pioli says his side are in high spirits and are prepared for the onslaught.

“We are prepared to make the best possible performance, we face a strong team but we will enter the match with caution,” he stated at his pre-match press conference as reported by LaLazioSiamoNoi.it.

“We have a fighting spirit, we want to try to make the game and get the result.

“Apart from the results we have obtained, tomorrow will be an important test, on the line are three points and we will try to take them home.”

The 48-year-old believes his side have the same European league aim as the Viola and is adamant the clash will determine the better team.

“Tomorrow will be a tough game for both teams because we have the same goal,” Pioli continued.

“They [Fiorentina] are already in Europe and want to consolidate their position, while we want to enter. The pitch will determine the better side.

“Tactically when you meet quality opponents like Fiorentina, you have to play a compact game in possession and defence,” he continued.

“We have to be excellent at stopping their possession and come forward with aggression.”

“I believe in my boys, we are training hard.”

“It’s the details that make the difference and we train to make sure that these details work to our advantage.”
