Napoli

Rafael – 6 – Untroubled

Had little to do sans the Torino goal.

Christian Maggio -6.5 – Resistance

Kept Torino’s left side at bay.

Raul Albiol – 5.5 – Key

Held Torino’s attack at bay, but had one lapse in concentration.

Kalidou Koulibaly – 5.5 – Interceptor

Came across and made some timely interceptions. Like Albiol, a momentary lack of concentration hurt his side.

Juan Zuniga – 5.5 – Spark

Didn’t pop up too often, but got the assist for Insigne’s goal.

Gokhan Inler – 6 – Engine

Worked hard. Denied a fantastic goal by an equally fantastic save by Gillet.

Walter Gargano – 5.5 – Strong

Put in a strong shift in the centre of midfield.

Michu – 5 – Faded

Had a few nice lay-offs, but did very little over all.

Lorenzo Insigne – 7 – Lively

Looked better and more lively than in past weeks. Unlucky to hit the woodwork in first half, but got a goal in the second.

Jose Callejo – 7 – Needed

Worked his socks off as he toiled up and down the right side. Got the winner.

Gonzalo Higuain – 6 – Important

Regularly Napoli’s best this season and again showed his importance even when he didn’t score.

Torino

Jean-Francois Gillet – 7.5 – Stopper

Got lucky in the first half, Insigne hit the post, defenders made two vital blocks. Made some excellent saves when called into action.

Nikola Maksimovic – 6 – Apt

Defended well, did little wrong.

Kamil Glik – 6 – Sure

Paired well in the backline with Moretti. Both were backed by an in form goalkeeper.

Emiliano Moretti – 6 – Underrated

Defended admirably.

Matteo Darmian – 5 – Unable

Had some difficulty corralling Callejon and his pace as the Spaniard got Napoli’s second.

Bruno Peres – 5 – Anonymous

Rarely popped up and seemed to be away from play most of the night.

Marco Benassi – – Nullified

Unable to use his vision and pick a pass on the night.

Giuseppe Vives – 5.5 – Tackler

Played an impressive defensive role in midfield in first half, faded out of the game in the second.

Omar El Kaddouri – 5 – Link

Tried to be the creative link between midfield and attack, but couldn’t quite do it.

Marcelo Larrondo – 5.5 – Teammate

Held the ball up when he could. Earned fouls and combined with teammates.

Fabio Quagiarella – 6 – Dependable

Got the opening goal and worked hard throughout. Gorgeous finish for the opener.
