Primavera 2014/15 – Round 4: Fiorentina keep unbeaten record in tact

Fiorentina remain the only side with a unblemished record and top Group A, but game of Week Four came as bottom side Trapani suffered a 7-0 loss away at Spezia.

Spezia in an even first half went in at the break just one goal to the good thanks to a Simone Bastoni goal. But four goals in the opening 13 minutes of the second half  ended the game and continued Trapani’s woes as they sit win less at the foot of the table.

Goals from Matteo Paccagnini, Abdullahi Nura, Alessandro Terminello, Nicola Galelli and a brace including a penalty from Davide Miocchi gave the home team their second consecutive win.

Fiorentina made it four wins out of four games thanks to an early goal from Luzayadio Bango at home to Modena.

Both Turin sides remain unbeaten with comfortable wins, Juventus welcomed Virtus Entella and dismissed them 4-0, whilst city rivals Torino travelled to Sampdoria and disposed of them 3-0.

Genoa at least restored some city pride as they visited Pro Vercelli and won by a solitary goal from Giuseppe Panico.

A brace from Antonio Calabrese was enough to secure a home win for Bologna as they beat visitors Varese, and in the only drawn game of the group Parma traveled to Carpi and secured a point with a 1-1 draw.

Group B leaders Inter comfortably kept top spot thanks to a 7-0 away win at Perugia with Federico Bonazzoli helping himself to four goals, Michael Ventre also grabbing a brace and Guy Yao scoring the other goal.

AC Milan kept up the pressure on city rivals Inter retaining second place with a 4-0 over visitors Pescara, Davide Di Molfetta with a brace, before Alessandro Mastalli joined Davide Calabria on the score sheet.

Bottom side Virtus Lanciano remain pointless after losing at home to Cagliari 3-2 but showed some spirit as the scored in the 93rd minute but to little to late as Cagliari had a two goal advantage.

Udinese took advantage of Pescara’s defeat and moved in third place after beating visitors Brescia 3-1.

Cesena and Cittadella secured their first wins of the season, Cesena by beating Atalanta 1-0 at home and Cittadella securing a 2-1 home win over Chievo.

Goals galore in Group C for the sides from capital, leaders Roma beat Avellino 4-1 in Rome thanks to goals from Daniele Verde, Tomas Vestenicky and a brace from Jacopo Ferri. Avellino scored a consultation goal from Juri Masocco, but had Klaudio Shullazi dismissed.

Meanwhile, Lazio traveled to Frosinone and ran out comfortable 5-0 winners, while Catania and Empoli both had 2-0 away wins with Vicenza and Bari, respectively the losers.

Livorno had a 2-1 at home to Palermo but left it late to secure the points. The Rosanero took the lead when Paolo Grillo netted which Andrea Favilli leveled, heading into injury time Gabriele Morelli scored the winner.

Crotone lost at home to Latina 1-2 despite taking the lead and the only drawn game of the round came as Napoli hosted Ternana and had to settle for a point each in a 1-1 draw.
