Roma defeated Chievo 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening in Serie A.

La Maggica took a 2-0 lead through Mattia Destro and Adem Ljajic, before Francesco Totti’s penalty rounded off the night.

The Giallorossi could’ve taken the lead only 40 seconds in when Totti notched onto a cross from the right-hand side, but his header went wide of the post.

Roma’s electrifying start continued, but this time they took the lead with only four minutes on the clock through Destro’s diving header.

The Italian international came really close to adding to his tally, but failed to control Maicon’s cross from the right-hand side.

Ljajic soon doubled the lead for Rudi Garcia’s men when he rounded Ervin Zukanovic before finishing from an acute angle.

Dario Dainelli could’ve pulled one back for the Flying Donkeys, but Morgan De Sanctis managed to to hold onto it.

Roma were then awarded a penalty minutes later when the former Fiorentina man was found culpable of fouling Daniele De Rossi inside the penalty area.

Totti stepped up and smashed his penalty in the roof of the net, taking the score to 3-0

Totti himself could’ve made it 4-0 moments later when he cut in from the left before unleashing a swerving strike which went inches wide of the post.

The capital club could’ve had a fourth seven minutes minutes into the second half, but Ljajic’s dipping strike went wide of the post.

Destro came really close to scoring his second of the night, only to see his header parried away by Francesco Bardi.

Radja Nainggolan then attempted a strike from distance seconds later, but his shot from distance was handled well by the goalkeeper.

Gennardo Sardo came agonisingly close to pulling a goal back for Eugeio Corini’s men, but his header went wide of the far post.

Destro was once against at the centre of things when he went through on goal only to see his powerful finish get denied by Bardi.
