For over a year Roma and Juventus have clashed for Serie A supremacy on the pitch but an interesting battle has emerged between the clubs outside of the stadia for the signature of 19-year old Paris St.-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot.

The talented French U21 international may leave as early as January as his contract expires in June and the two Italian powerhouses are keen to bring in Rabiot whose combination of raw skill and youth make the central midfielder a logical building block for any club, particularly one with the resources and aspirations of the Giallorossi and Bianconeri.

Tuttosport report Juventus, Roma and Arsenal are current favorites to convince Rabiot’s mother, who is also the player’s agent, to sign although a move to Juventus appears more likely to occur this summer while the Giallorossi favor a more immediate move in this winter’s transfer market.

In the high stakes match of agents, board rooms and club presidents, Roma may have the advantage as the rapport between Juventus and the Paris club suffered a blow with the acrimonious purchase of Kingsley Coman this summer.

Rabiot is currently frozen out at PSG, having failed to make an appearance this season in anticipation of his imminent departure.
