Roma believe they are favorites to sign young Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot having beaten competition from Arsenal.

The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger was desperate to bring the 19 year old former Manchester City trainee to the Emirates Stadium to bolster their midfield options. Rabiot however, has different plans has made it clear that a move to the Italian capital in the colours of the Giallorossi remains his favored outcome should he leave France.

“Roma are a great club, their project is enticing and they are in the Champions League,” Rabiot told The Mirror.

“Now we’ll have to wait until January and see what to do. I chose my mother as my agent as she gives me good advice. I don’t know if I will play for PSG again, as I don’t enjoy being in the reserves.

“I am at the disposal of the coach and he will be the one to decide.”

Rabiot, who spent time on loan at Toulouse in 2013, was a regular in the first team under Carlo Ancelotti but has seen playing time limited under current Head Coach Laurent Blanc.
