Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero just cannot seem to say the right thing at the moment, even managing to offend Juventus with his apology to Inter.

The exciteable Blucerchiati president was apologising for a comment he made in which he referred to Thohir as “that Filipino” and advising Massimo Moratti to send him packing from Inter.

Speaking on radio, Ferrero said: “I did not want to offend anyone, I made a joke that has now been exploited.

“Agnelli said worse than what I said but nobody said anything about that because he has the newspapers. Thohir is an intelligent man, but I just wanted to defend Moratti, a man who has given so much to Italian football.”

The comments of Agnelli that he is referring to and deems worse than those he made himself was when Agnelli said that Moratti was happy to accept a Scudetto that Inter did not win, in reference to the one that his side had taken away in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal.
