Serie-BCarpi went top of the table on Saturday afternoon as they destroyed Pescara 5-0 at the Stadio Adriatico.

Pescara were reduced to ten men just before the interval and an onslaught of goals followed.

Goalkeeper Simone Aresti was dismissed in the 44th minute so striker Riccardo Maniero was sacrificed and Vincenzo Fiorillo was brought in to goal.

Amazingly Carpi went 2 goals up before half-time thanks to goals from Fabio Concas and Gaetano Letizia in first half injury time.

Just after the restart, Letizia got his second of the game and then a brace from Jerry Mbakogu secured the game for the Biancorossi.

The win meant that the away side went top of the league on goals scored over Frosinone.

The Gialloblu were occupying top spot before today but fell to a 1-0 defeat to Virtus Entella courtesy of a strike from Pedro Ferreira.

There was a heated affair between Avellino and Virtus Lanciano as there were FOUR red cards shown.

Rodrigo Ely of Avellino and Mame Thiam of Lanciano were both dismissed after a bit of an altercation following a challenge on the home side’s goalkeeper Alfred Gomis by Thiam.

Just five minutes later, Stefano Ferrario received his second yellow card after a late challenge but ten minutes later the nine men of Lanciano took the lead through Carlo Mammarella.

Pietro Visconti got his second yellow card moments later to make it two red cards apiece, but his side equalised soon after through Andrea Arrighini and that’s how the game finished.

Elsewhere, Catania defeated Vicenza 3-1 to move off the foot of the table.

Goals from Edgar Cani, Emanuele Calaio and Raphaele Martinho made it 3-0 to the Sicilians and then in injury time, Vicenza pulled one back through Pol Garcia.

Crotone are now bottom of the table after previously being level bottom with Catania after a 2-2 draw with Cittadella.

Alessandro Sgrigna put Citta in front early on but Ernersto Torregrossa equalised before the break.

Camilo Ciano put the home side in front in the 77th minute to turn the game on its head but then cruelly in the 96th minute, Massimiliano Busellato equalised for Citta.

Livorno missed the chance to go top of the table as a goal from Andrea Catellani earned a 1-0 win for Spezia.

Latina and Brescia drew 1-1 in both goals and red cards at the Stadio Francioni.

Federico Viviani put Latina 1-0 up at half-time but after the restart Andrea Caracciolo equalised for the Leonessa.

Ruben Olivera was sent off for Brescia after two quick-fire yellow cards and then Nicola Talamo was dismissed for Latina.

In other matches, Varese defeated Bari 2-1 and there was a stalemate between Pro Vercelli and quick starters Perugia.

Arturo Lupoli converted a penalty in the first period to put Varese in front but Daniele Sciaudone put Bari on level terms in the second half.

Moments later Neto put the home side back in front and that’s how the game finished.
