Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has praised his star striker Graziano Pelle after his match-winning debut for Italy.
The 29 year old towering striker finally made his national team bow against Malta, and scored the match-winning goal in the 1-0 win.
“I am happy he scored the decisive goal for the Italian national team,” Koeman told reporters at a pre-match press conference.
“I hope he can continue in this vain with the shirt of our club as well.
“His qualities have never been in question, he is doing great things and I think he can repeat what he did in Holland [with Feyenoord].”
