Marco Sportiello atalantaAtalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello was pleased to have kept a draw for the Dea after stopping a late penalty in their 1-1 draw with Napoli.

The goalkeeper was the star of the match after several impressive saves, the best of which came on a last minute penalty from Gonzalo Higuain that secured a deserved point for the home side.

“It is a night that I will remember for a long time,” he told Mediaset Premium after the match.

“We are satisfied because we could have lost.

“The save on the goalline? I was lucky there.  The penalty save on [Gonzalo] Higuain? The goalkeeper can do little if the striker shoots it well. I did well and was lucky.

“It was a great feeling as penalties are based on instinct, there is little to study,” he continued to Sky Sport Italia.

“We could have lost in the end but we are happy to have brought home a positive result.”
