Udinese coach Andrea Stramaccioni lamented the mistakes that cost his side in their 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina in Serie A.

Khouma Babacar bagged two goals as Udinese struggled to make an impact at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“We played a good first half and had two incredible opportunities,” the ex-Inter coach told Radio Rai.

“We have taken steps forward in terms of personality, but against the big teams we must avoid making mistakes.”

Udinese hit the post through Antonio Di Natale before Babacar scrambled home the opener in the final moments of the first half.

“It was too bad for us, they got their daring goal in the first half and in the second half we tried to level things up,” Stramaccioni continued.

“However, spaces opened up and Fiorentina were deadly- at 2-0 the game was over.

“Our goal is safety,” the tactician concluded.

Udinese dropped to fifth in Serie A, having been third, and host Genoa on Sunday.
