After a solitary Fabio Quagliarella strike gave Torino a much needed win at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, but Udinese striker Cyril Thereau praised the Granata but felt the Zebrette focused too much on trying to win the game.

The Frenchman also singled out Torino defender Pontus Jansson as the stand-out performer for the hosts particularly given his own difficulties trying to pass the Swede starting his first game this season.

“We committed too much to attack, and we have suffered as a result,” Thereau told Tuttomercatoweb

“They were good and we were left very few spaces. In the first half we missed too many chances and we were punished.

“Congratulations to Jansson, I did not know him, and I felt he was their best player.

“Also, well done [coach Giampiero] Ventura for preparing them for the game. We can store this defeat knowing that the ranking is good for us.”
