After Inter’s exciting 2-2 draw against Napoli in Serie A on Sunday, Nerazzurri president Erick Thohir feels that his team is back to normal and hope the same attitude into their next Europa League match.
Inter looked to be defeated after Napoli winger Jose Callejon scored his second of the match right at the 90th minute. But Brazilian midfielder Hernanes saved the point for the Milan side scoring a header past keeper Rafael a minute later, securing a 2-2 draw.
“Thank you to our fans for the support, it was important to create the right atmosphere and this has happened thanks to you,” Thohir told the club’s official website.
“You gave the team the momentum needed for the reaction. I’m proud of the fighting spirit shown by the team and by the coach. We’re back! And the same fighting spirit I am sure we will see in the field and in the stands also in Europa League on Thursday.”
Inter face French side Saint Etienne in their third Europa League group match on Thursday.
