Torino host Atalanta on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico as the Granata look to climb their way into the top half of the table.

Both sides sit in the bottom half of the table, and after contrasting results in midweek, they will be after three points to catapult them further away from the relegation places.

Torino played host to bottom-placed Parma at home on Wednesday evening, with a solitary goal by Matteo Darmian enough to split the sides in what was an unconvincing win for the home team.

Meanwhile, Atalanta secured a respectable home draw against Napoli, and if it was not for Gonzalo Higuain’s late equaliser, they would have taken a remarkable win against the under-performing Partenopei.

The results left both sides stranded in the bottom half of the table, with Atalanta just two points above the drop-zone and Torino up to 11th.

Torino were by far and away the better side against Parma, who were condemned to their sixth straight defeat, but were unable to fully replicate their dominance on the scoresheet.

For Atalanta, Marco Sportiello ensured his side secured a point by saving a penalty by Higuain late into injury time, and was the hero for the home team.

These two teams last met earlier this year in January, with Torino netting a 1-0 win against Atalanta at home.

The now departed Alessio Cerci scored from the penalty spot, which was enough to split the two teams, who will now meet each other without some big names including Cerci.

Ciro Immobile and Giacomo Bonaventura have also departed Torino and Atalanta respectively, which has taken a toll on both clubs early in the season.

Cesare Bovo and Cristian Molinaro are out while Marco Benassi returns after serving his suspension for the Granata.

On other side Stefano Colantuono will have to do without Yohan Benalouane and Luca Cigarini as they are both suspended, while Alejandro Gomez will not travel with the side due to a muscular problem.
