Francesco Totti - RomaRoma captain Francesco Totti has called for calm as the Giallorossi prepare to face Napoli on Saturday afternoon.

Tension has been present between the two sets of fans since the fatal shooting of Napoli fan, Ciro Esposito, hours before the Coppa Italia Final in Rome back in May, in which a Roma ultra is accused of the murder.

“I have always dissociated myself from all forms of violence and I reiterated this thought ahead of tomorrow,” Totti said in a written statement on his website.

“I am hoping that we will experience a celebration of excellent sport.

“As a father and a man, I want to give an embrace of warmth to all the families who have been affected by deaths in football and sport.

“I think of the De Falchi family, the family of Ciro Esposito, and that of Stefano and Cristian, of the Sandri family.

“I feel close to all of those who have experienced disasters such as these.

“Many angels are watching us from above, and their first wish is that certain things do not happen again.”
