Tension was present in central Milan on Thursday prior to the Europa League fixture involving Inter and Saint-Etienne.

Supporters of the French club traveled to Milan to watch their side in the third game of the group stage before a minority of fans got involved in drunken disorder in the city’s Piazza del Duomo.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that fans detonated firecrackers and a drunken outburst in front of a local bookstore caused distress amongst passers by, although no damage was recorded to the property.

It is also reported that a fistfight broke out in the centre of the square between supporters of the visitors with one individual retreating with a bloody face.

While reports of Les Verts supporters pulling the emergency brake on the metro to the San Siro have also been made.

The majority of the traveling support were in good spirits prior to the game with only a small minority being involved in any unrest.
