Udinese have denied reports claiming that striker Luis Muriel has been working with a personal training staff outside of the club.

According to recent reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 23-year-old had begun seeking aid from outside specialists including an osteopath and a nutritionist with permission from the Zebrette in order to help better his physical condition, though the Friuli outfit are adamant that these reports are false.

The Udine side released the following statement through the club’s official website on Thursday to clear the rumours surrounding the Colombian international and confirmed that he has been receiving treatment within the club’s guidelines.

“With regard to news relating to personal staff giving the footballer Luis Muriel programs for athletic training, nutritional advice and posture, Udinese Calcio states that the athlete works exclusively in accordance with the directions and guidelines of the staff of head coach Andrea Stramaccioni for technical and athletic matters, and doctor Claudio Rigo for medical issues.”

Muriel is still yet to score a goal and has provided one assist in his nine Serie A appearances for Udinese thus far.
