Valencia have been linked with a move for Torino defender Matteo Darmian, the latest in a long list of Serie A players being linked with the Spanish side.

Not satisfied with the purchase of Sampdoria’s Shkodran Mustafi, Valencia’s director of football Roberto Ayala has been monitoring Sampdoria duo Stefano Okaka and Pedro Obiang, according to Tuttomercatoweb, and it now appears that Darmian is also in their sights.

A versatile defender who can play both centrally as well as either full-back roles, it is Darmian’s ability to fit into a variety of tactical roles that appeals to the Iberian club.

They have been tracking him for weeks now and an offer could be made in January.
