Torino coach Giampiero Ventura admitted that his side had a lot of room for improvement following their 1-0 victory against Parma at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin on Wednesday evening.

A goal inside the first 10 minutes by Matteo Darmian secured the win for the Granata.

“We are doing better than last year and this gives us confidence to move forward,” said Ventura while speaking to Rai Sport after the game.

“Today we had a good first half and had numerous opportunities to score the second goal but in the second half we took it easy and didn’t play on the same level. We have a lot for improvement.”

Torino controversially replaced Parma in the Europa League after the Ducali were denied a UEFA license by the FIGC due to overdue tax debt. The Turin based club now have to deal with a more congested fixture schedule which is something Ventura is well aware of.

“It is not easy to stay sharp after playing every three days. We are not used to it but we are responding well to these difficulties.”
