Torino coach Giampiero Ventura was quite satisfied with his squad’s performance against Udinese as they powered past their opponents to eke out a slim 1-0 win.

The result gave the Granata their second overall win, and first home victory of the season, as they seek to rebound from a disappointing start to their 2014/2015 domestic campaign.

Fabio Quagliarella was the man to make the difference for Ventura’s troops, and the coach was quick to hail his striker as well as complement the overall performance of the team.

“During the half-time break, I tried to impress on them that the stress isn’t going to go away, but we needed to stay calm,”he stated to Sky Sport Italia after his team’s success.

“Besides, while we don’t rely on the quality of a sole individual, what we do have is a good team effort to win a match.

“For instance, we have [good] attackers like Quagliarella and Amauri but overall are a young team and I’m hoping that their experience will help the younger players to grow.

“Although there’s the tendency to compare Quagliarella to players like Paolo Pulici, which is inevitable as he’s part of our history, I am hoping that he can write his own story here at Torino.”
