Italy v Netherlands - ZazaSassuolo star Simone Zaza admits it’s up to him to prove that he is worthy of a spot in the Italy team.

The 23 year old striker was called up once again by Azzurri boss Antonio Conte, after impressing in his debut last month and will be looking to improve on his recent poor club form.

“Now, more than ever, it’s up to me to nail down a place in the starting XI,” Zaza told FIFA.com

“I owe a lot of that to my team-mates, who did everything they could to make me feel like just another member of the squad, even though I was the last one to come in.

“I felt relaxed, though I know that the hardest part is yet to come because every time I play now I have to go out and show that I belong.

“[What’s it like being a star at Sassuolo] I haven’t changed. I’m still the same and I live the same way I did before. My relationship with my team-mates and my friends off the pitch haven’t changed either.

“My idol? Marco van Basten has been my hero since I was a little boy.”
