Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman has warned his squad to be on their guard as they host a streaking Sampdoria on Sunday.

The Blucerchiati have been in sparkling form so far this campaign, with four wins and two draws leaving them in a highly coveted third-placed spot and are currently the only unbeaten side remaining in the league save for Scudetto champions Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Rossoblu have stumbled miserably and only have four points from six rounds of action with just one win to their name thus far. As a result, the veteran coach is very aware of the potentially tough task for his men.

“We have to be very careful about Sampdoria. They’re a tough team that truly reflect the character of their coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic,” he was quoted as saying as per TuttoCagliari.net.

“They have some very important players, like [Manolo] Gabbiadini who has a great long-range shot and can easily break down defenses.”

The former Roma coach also took the opportunity to discuss the availability and fitness of several of the team’s key players.

“Daniele Conti’s injury isn’t too serious, and he’s back in the squad. However, we’ll have to evaluate him carefully and see whether he can actually play.

“Marco Sau has recovered well, is doing great, and has been training comfortably over these past few days.”
