Zdenek Zeman has admitted he has finally got Cagliari playing the way he wants following their 4-0 demolition of Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

The Rossoblu had the three points wrapped up before the half time whistle had been blown after a tremendous 15 minute spell, in which they scored four goals.

“We managed to play the way we wanted to, keeping the defence high and it worked, especially in the first half,” Zeman told the press.

“Donsah played very well and has great quality. Victor Ibarbo needs to be guided, as he is a very instinctive player with excellent characteristics.

“Avelar was solid in defence and has two good feet too, as shown today with his free kick. He is a pleasant surprise.

“I am happy because I have so many quality players at my disposal and they make it difficult every time to choose a starting eleven.

“If a player has the slightest problem in training, I keep him to one side until he has recovered 100 percent for the next games.”
