Ahead of the Milan derby on Sunday night, former Inter defender Cristian Chivu was clearly in reminiscent mood when reminding fans of the enjoyment he took from his involvement in one of the most one-sided contests in recent memory.

Back in 2009, during the debut season of coach Jose Mourinho, the Nerazzurri embarrassed AC Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza 4-0 with goals from Thiago Motta, Diego Milito, Maicon and Dejan Stankovic all netting.

“I always remember fondly that [match] of 2009, the end score finished 4-0. Forza Inter always,” Chivu declared on Twitter.

That match also saw the Rossoneri reduced to 10 men in strange circumstances as Gennaro Gattuso, already on a booking, awaited his substitution through injury managed to foul debutant Wesley Sneijder and receive a second yellow along with his marching orders.
