AC Milan have been preparing for the derby against Inter on Sunday, with coach Filippo Inzaghi trying to implement new tactical systems should midfielder Nigel De Jong and Ignazio Abate not be back in time for the Derby della Madonnina.

The Rossoneri still hope that the Dutchman and Italian full-back will be back and fit in time for the fixture but have been working on contingency plans in training.

According to Tuttosport, the French centre-back Adil Rami lined up in training as a makeshift right-back with Philippe Mexes and Alex featuring alongside each other in the centre of defence.

Rami has made seven starts for Milan during the 2014-15 Serie A season and scored once but he is yet to feature at right-back.

The Rossoneri currently sit in seventh place on 17 points, with one point more their local rivals who have 16 points from 11 games ahead of Roberto Mancini’s first game in charge following Walter Mazzarri’s dismissal.
