AC Milan have started talks with Dinamo Zagreb over the transfer of midfield star Marcelo Brozovic.
The 22-year-old Croatian international has established himself as one of his side’s key players over the past few years, and looks set for a move to one of Europe’s elite this winter.
Sky Sport Italia report that Milan had proposed an initial loan deal, with a right to purchase Brozovic permanently but Dinamo rejected the offer immediately.
The Rossoneri then offered €4 million outright, but the Croatian giants declined the offer, asking for a fee of twice as much to which Milan have yet to respond to.
Talks are expected to continue in the coming weeks, with developments set to be announced closer to the re-opening of the transfer window in January.
Brozovic has also garnered the interest of Arsenal and Inter in the past few months.
