AC Milan’s Adil Rami believes the Derby della Madonnina could have gone either way with both sides creating chances to win after the two Milan clubs shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw at the San Siro on Sunday night.

Joel Obi’s second half goal for the Nerazzurri cancelled out Jeremy Menez’s opener in a match in which Rami played at the right-back for the very first time.

“It was very difficult for me because I had never played as a full-back before, but I wanted to give everything since we had no alternative,” Rami said to Sky Sport Italia.

“They got the draw because of out error, but we also had the opportunities to win.”

When asked about his club’s chances to secure Champions League football Rami remained positive about the Rossoneri’s chances.

“We are a few points behind, but there is still a lot of time left to get the third place finish.”
