Cana - Fiorentina v LazioAlbania captain Lorik Cana has expressed his support at the decision to move Tuesday’s friendly against Italy to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa.

The Italian Football Federation [FIGC] switched from Parma’s Stadio Ennio Tardini to the Marassi after the city was struck by flooding last month with the proceeds from the match expected to go to a relief fund.

“In recent years there has never been a game between Italy and Albania, so this is a great opportunity for us to continue our growth process against a great opponent,” the 31-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“When we heard the game would be played to raise funds for the people of Genoa, we were happy.

“We hope that it can be an entertaining match and a wonderful festival of football with many Albanians there to support us.

“We started our journey with Gianni De Biasi two years ago, but are progressing so well.

“We achieved great results and want to make history for the Albanian people.”

The Lazio defender also discussed the Biancocelesti’s upcoming clash with champions Juventus, as well as his own future.

“We are formidable at home, we’re fine despite the defeat at Empoli,” he continued.

“Future? I am attracted by the Bundesliga, but I have a year and a half of my contract left, I will not go before.”
