Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri believes his side can leapfrog Atletico Madrid in their Champions League group, after the Bianconeri defeated Malmo 2–0 in Sweden.

The win leaves Juventus with just the three points off of the La Liga champions.

“We had to close the game earlier, particularly as we had so many chances,” the Juventus boss told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was a good game, the players understood the importance of the occasion, however Malmo played a great first half.

“The pitch was in poor condition and we struggled to take our chances, but we played much better in the second half.

“We are coming up against a team [Atletico Madrid] that could have won this competition, it will be a close match; our match with Atletico Madrid will be important, we will try and win with two goals so we can top the group.”

Fernando Llorente scored Juventus’ first goal tonight against Malmo with Carlos Tevez sealing the result late on.

“I wasn’t expecting Llorente to score such a goal, we put more pressure on them and Marchisio deserves credit for the assist.

“We have great midfielders, Marchisio showed great technique and we also have Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba.”

Olympiacos were defeated 4–0 by Altetico Madrid meaning Juventus need just one point from their final match to qualify to the Champions League Round of 16.
