Serie A club Atalanta have been fined €30,000 for incidents during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Roma at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia in Bergamo.

The fine is a result of flares and firecrackers being thrown into the travelling supporters section of the stadium and the use of a laser light directed at Roma’s goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.

It is not first time La Dea have found themselves in hot water over the actions of their fans, the Italian leagues disciplinary committee fined the club €40,000 after bananas were thrown at AC Milan players in May.

Roma fought back to win the game after Maxi Moralez had given Atalanta an early lead, first half goals from Adem Ljajic and Radja Nainggolan secured maximum points for the Giallorossi to keep up the pressure on Serie A leaders Juventus.
