AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has revealed that he’s happy with the way things have been going since his arrival at the Diavolo over the summer and insists that he always gives his best in order to help the club win.

The 25-year-old, who has scored two goals in his 11 Serie A appearances thus far, admits that he would have liked to provide the winning goal in the recent Derby della Madonnina, as one of his shots on target during the 1-1 draw was blocked by Inter captain Andrea Ranocchia, but confirms that he remains satisfied with his start at the San Siro outfit this season.

Bonaventura spoke to Milan Channel about his time with AC Milan and the commitment he gives to the team, while also commenting on the role of team-mate Fernando Torres.

“I’m happy with everything that has happened so far here at Milan,” said the Italian international.

“It’s been a positive start and I think I have done my best, but I think I have to do more because if you play at Milan, you have to win.

“It would have been amazing to score a goal in the derby, but Ranocchia did well to block my shot.

“Torres? He should be served the ball from deep in the field, the ball must be put into the right area for him. For this, the midfield should keep attacking so we can stay close in order to pass the ball or send crosses to the strikers.

“It’s one of his characteristics to play in depth, but he is also a great fighter. He’s always there to give his all even when he’s hardly receiving any service of the ball.”
