Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci believes his side is now stronger and more positive in Europe since changing their tactical system.

Since Massimiliano Allegri switched to a four-man backline the Bianconeri have won every match, including a 2-0 Champions League victory at Malmo on Wednesday.

“It was an important win mainly because we wanted it right from the off,” the 27-year-old told Juventus TV.

“Getting the victory yesterday meant putting one foot in the next round.

“We’ll go all out at home against Atletico Madrid to secure qualification or perhaps even pip first spot in the group.

“The turning point was against Olympiacos and again the only thing that mattered was victory.

“We conceded two goals from a couple of sloppy dead-ball situations but did well to rally.

“Since then we’ve persisted with this tactical mindset and it’s allowed us to become stronger and even more positive in Europe.

“What changes for the defenders? We frequently find ourselves in one-on-one situations, but you have to accept this at a club like Juventus because it gives you more license to attack.”

Bonucci also summed up the importance of continuing their winning run ahead of the upcoming Derby della Mole match against Torino on Sunday.

“As always, winning is all that matters,” he concluded.
