Conte - ItalyAzzurri head coach Antonio Conte met Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman on Thursday as he starts his tour of Italy.

After visiting Palermo on Wednesday, Conte went to Sardinia as he meets the country’s coaches in a bid to stop, what he believes, are the declining standards of Italian football.

“I got a good impression,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia.

“Zeman is a coach that put a lot of emphasis on work, and I think this is pivotal.

“Calcio’s current situation is tough and we need of cooperation from everyone to go through.”

Visiting Cagliari, Conte also get the chance to evaluate defender Luca Rossettini, who received the international call for the Azzurri’s friendly game with Albania in Genoa, even though he didn’t play.

Conte would also have had a look at forward Marco Sau, and U21s Alessio Cragno and Lorenzo Crisetig.
