Roma’s Morgan De Sanctis has voiced his disappointment at conceding a late equaliser against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Rudi Garcia’s men relinquished their 1-0 lead in the final 10 seconds of the game as Vasili Berezutski’s cross eluded everyone, and caught De Sanctis by surprise, as the ball nestled into the corner of his net. Francesco Totti had given Roma a deserved first half lead with a powerful free kick.

“The disappointment is huge for how they got the goal,”De Sanctis told Sky Sport Italia.

“It will mean that we will play for qualification until the last minute of the last game, we have seen on the field we deserved to qualify, even though they have held the ball until the end.

“At 92 minutes and 50 seconds we had the ball, so the situation [of them scoring] should not have come around. There is a problem of reactivity.”
