Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco spoke ahead of Sunday’s game against Torino about his side’s style of play. Di Francesco was bullish that the Neroverdi would soon recover the flair that earned them so many plaudits.
After two successive 0–0 draws against Chievo Verona and Atalanta, in Saturday’s pre-match press conference, Di Francesco hit back over some of the criticism his team received for their recent goal draught.
“I cannot wait to take the field and show that we want to get back to playing,” Di Francesco said to the press.
“We want to get back to winning ways and show a convincing performance.
“Despite those who may turn up their noses at the many 0–0 results, we must remember that Serie A is a very tough league where you encounter teams that don’t allow you to play or express yourself.
“We will have to be adept and not adapt to the opponent’s game.”
Of all the 11 games Sassuolo have played, Di Francesco’s men have failed to score in five of them. Sassuolo are currently 13th in Serie A.
