Parma coach Roberto Donadoni says he has no fears about losing his job despite pressure on him mounting following a 2-0 reverse at home against Empoli.

Their string of poor results continued as they suffered their second eighth defeat from their last nine games as goals from Matias Vecino and Francesco Tavano condemned them to another loss.

He told Rai Sport: “I am not worried about my position. I do not decide my future, that is for others at the club to do.

“I am interested in getting my full team together, without injuries, and then I believe that we can do much more than we are at the moment. Nobody wants to resign or be sacked and if there were whistles from the crowd, then I think that this is only normal.”

Of the game itself, the former national team boss believes that his side were unlucky to come away with nothing to show for their efforts at the Tardini.

“In the first half, I think that we did well,” Donadoni insisted. “Empoli played well and then got the goal before half time and this hurt our mindset.

“We had a lapse then at the start of the second half from which they scored another goal. Lodi and Cassano both had good chances for us and if we had managed to get it back to 2-1, then we could have set it up for a big finish.

“I do not think that we deserved the defeat and we are certainly sorry about it.”
