Parma head coach Roberto Donadoni has revealed that his side’s only focus is to secure a crucial win against Empoli on Sunday afternoon.

The Ducali currently sit bottom of Serie A and are facing a deduction of at least one point after the club failed to meet a November 17 deadline to pay outstanding taxes and wages, but Donadoni is only focusing on footballing matters.

“Our only focus is to win the game tomorrow,” he told reporters in his pre-match press conference on Saturday.

“All the other ongoings are not up to us, all we can do is go out onto the pitch and put ourselves in a better league position.

“We are up against an opponent who is doing well and has the same objective as us, to stay in this league.”

Donadoni then answered questions about the future of the club and what effect the ongoing troubles is having on him.

“There is a great desire to continue the tradition of this club, the fact is this is a club with a glorious history and it has been shown in recent years.

“Everything that is going on outside interests is up to a certain point; we have a task to go out onto the pitch and be better than the opposition.

“We have a strong desire, even more than before because of the current situation.”

Crociati president Tommaso Ghirardi has confirmed on Saturday that he will remain at the club, after several reports linked him with a move away from the club.
