Fiorentina striker Federico Bernardeschi is looking forward to a speedy recovery from injury in order to resume his playing career again.

The Carrara born striker is set to miss the next five five months of action due to a severe ankle injury suffered after training ground collision earlier this month, but the Italian admits he is looking to return before then.

“The recovery time is five months, I hope to shorten it a bit and come back stronger than before,” Bernardeschi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Injuries are a risk of becoming a professional football player. You have to accept it as part of the game and of course you have to rise from adversity.

“My injury unfortunately went like this, but I will be back in March and I hope to prove my worth a few months before the season ends.”

The 20 year old made his debut with the Italy U-21 side this year in a Euro 2015 qualifying match against Northern Ireland.
