Former Roma defender Vincent Candela is in the running to be Roberto Mancini’s assistant coach at Inter.

The left wing-back who appeared 210 times for the Giallorossi and became a player’s agent after hanging up his boots, looks set for a future as a coach.

According to La Gazetta dello Sport, Candela is competing with Nasser Larguet, Dario Marcolini and Dario Didonato for serving as an assistant coach to Roberto Mancini, who recently took over as Inter coach.

For Candela, this will be his first coaching position but having spent nine years with Roma, Udinese and Messina.

On Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina, Inter’s goalkeeping coach Giulio Nuciari will temporarily serve as Mancini’s assistant.
