Sampdoria forward Manolo Gabbiadini understands that his team will be going up against a challenging Cesena side on Sunday and admits that La Samp could still face difficulties despite being the favourites to win.
The Blucerchiati have only been defeated once this season thus far but the 22-year-old believes the Seahorses will be determined to secure a result at home after struggling throughout the beginning of the campaign, as they currently sit in the relegation zone on the Serie A table.
Gabbiadini spoke to Playermanagement.eu about Sunday’s away clash with Cesena and insisted that Sampdoria will give their all to prevent their hosts from winning.
“Our time has been more than positive this season, but we know that we will be facing an angry Cesena,” said the Italian international.
“Personally I am happy, I hope to score again on Sunday. Playing on that field is not easy, we will have to be very careful because it will be tough.
“On paper we are the favourites, but that doesn’t always mean something. They are a good team and will give their all, so we must do the same to make a great match.”
